VALLMORA 2008

 This is the only mono-varietal wine from the Alella D.O. 100% made with Red Grenache.

The grapes come from two old vineyards in the Rials Valley where the bunches are selected for producing this wine. Macerations are not very long to avoid a wine with too much structure. Neither is a very long ageing process sought. This lasts for 12 months in 225 and 300 litre casks.

Cherry-coloured, with an intense, fruity (red fruits), balsamic, liquorous, very varietal aroma with ginger nuances.

A round, meaty mouth with a medium structure, a ripe polished tannin, fresh. A finish with toasted, liquorice nuances.

It combines perfectly with traditional Catalan dishes like hot spicy snails, tripe with chickpeas, veal steak with truffle sauce...
